Controllers issue urgent instructions after Air France jet deviates at Los Angeles airport
An Air France A350 departing Los Angeles International Airport for Papeete turned left from its assigned departure route on November 7, entering a conflicting path with an American Airlines A321 bound for Dallas–Fort Worth that had taken off from a nearby runway. Air traffic controllers issued urgent course and altitude instructions to separate the aircraft; reports put their vertical separation at about 400 feet, though that figure has not been independently confirmed. Both flights continued to their destinations, and no injuries were reported. The cause of the Air France aircraft’s turn remains unclear.
