UPS worker of 44 years struck and killed days before retirement
Paul Roberts, 63, a UPS employee in Earth City, Missouri, was fatally struck by a vehicle at the company’s Customer Care Center less than two weeks before he was scheduled to retire after 44 years with UPS. Police said Roberts died at the scene and that the driver remained there and is cooperating with the investigation. Family members remembered him as a dedicated worker and family man who had recently married his longtime partner. UPS expressed condolences and referred questions to authorities, while some employees raised concerns about dark conditions and broader safety issues at the facility.
