US Futures Rise, Brent Crude Falls

U.S. stock-index futures rose Monday after markets suffered a second straight weekly decline, as investors weighed pressure on the artificial-intelligence trade and a pullback in oil prices. Brent crude retreated from a six-month high amid uncertainty over whether the United States and Iran will reach a deal or resume hostilities. Attention is focused on this week’s Federal Reserve and other central-bank decisions, with rates broadly expected to remain unchanged, and on earnings from major technology companies including Microsoft, Alphabet and Amazon. Inflation and economic data, along with geopolitical tensions and political uncertainty ahead of the U.S. midterm elections, are also key market risks.
