Alina Șerban film takes audience award at Venice close
The 83rd Venice Film Festival concluded with its awards ceremony and final red-carpet appearances in Venice on Sept. 12, led by jury president Maggie Gyllenhaal. Alina Șerban’s “I Matter” won the Armani Beauty Audience Award, with producer Ada Solomon joining her at the awards photo call. Films widely viewed as contenders included Yuval Abraham and Rachel Szor’s Gaza-focused documentary “NAZA,” Lee Chang-dong’s “Possible Love” and Martin McDonagh’s “Wild Horse Nine,” while the festival presented the Golden Lion and other prizes across its competition and sidebar programs. The closing events featured international filmmakers and jury members including Lee Chang-dong and Johnnie To.
