Flag Unfurls at Pentagon on 25th 9/11 Anniversary
A massive American flag was unfurled at sunrise over the Pentagon as the nation marked 25 years since the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, which killed nearly 3,000 people. The display took place near the Pentagon 9/11 Memorial at the impact site of American Airlines Flight 77, honoring the 184 military personnel and civilians killed there. President Donald Trump attended the Pentagon’s anniversary observance and was scheduled to lay a wreath, with a moment of silence planned for the time the plane struck the building. The ceremony also included tributes from Gold Star families, veterans and first responders, including Arlington County firefighter Justin Tirrell, who emphasized the acts of courage and compassion shown on that day.
