Norway Toilet Campaign Goes Viral After Trump Insult

After President Donald Trump called Norway a “shithouse country” at a Michigan rally and said he did not want Norwegian immigrants because he was not awarded the Nobel Peace Prize, Visit Norway turned the insult into a tourism campaign. Its playful posts spotlight architect-designed public toilets along scenic routes, many set beside fjords, rivers and mountains, with some recognized for their design. The campaign went viral, and one report said views of the tourism page rose more than 540-fold in a week. Norway’s foreign minister stressed that the government has no role in the Nobel Committee’s independent decisions.
