Former President Donald Trump is revealing why he is waiting to make a decision on another presidential run in 2024.
During a Fox News interview on Tuesday night, host Maria Bartiromo asked Trump if he is considering running in 2024.
He replied, “Based on every poll, they want me to run again, but we’re going to take a look, and we’ll see. We have first steps first, we have to see what we can do with the House.”
“I think we have a chance of taking back the House. I think we have a chance to do better in the Senate,” Trump continued. “We need leadership in the Senate, which frankly we don’t have… you have a good chance to take back the Senate and, frankly, we’ll make our decision after that.”

The former president teased a potential 2024 run during his speech at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) last month, as IJR previously reported.
He said President Joe Biden’s policies in his first month in office “should be reason enough for Democrats to suffer withering losses in the [2022] midterms and to lose the White House decisively four years from now.”
Trump continued, “But who knows, who knows, I may even decide to beat them for a third time, okay? It’s true.”
Earlier this month, Trump suggested there are not any Republicans who could beat him if he decided to run again, as IJR reported.
“I think based on the job performance, I’m not sure that anybody should be able to win other than us,” he said.
Trump was asked by journalist Mark Halperin, “No one could beat you?”
He responded, “I can’t imagine it if I decide to do that. I haven’t decided to do that. But I love our country. I’m going to do what’s right for our country.”
