Amazon Pauses 21 Air Operations After Miami Crash

Amazon has paused its operations with Miami-based cargo carrier 21 Air after an Amazon-branded Boeing 767 overran a runway while landing at Miami International Airport on Sept. 6, killing five people on the ground and injuring five others. Amazon said it made the decision after reviewing circumstances surrounding the crash while supporting the National Transportation Safety Board’s investigation. The company said it will use other cargo carriers to handle shipments previously assigned to 21 Air. Amazon spokeswoman Kelly Nantel said safety remains the company’s top priority, while 21 Air said it would cooperate with investigators and support those affected.
