UEFA Awards 2028 and 2029 Champions League Finals to Munich and Barcelona

UEFA selected Barcelona’s renovated Camp Nou over London’s Wembley Stadium to host the 2029 Champions League final. The decision gives Barcelona a major European football event ahead of Spain’s co-hosting of the 2030 World Cup, although construction of the roughly 105,000-seat stadium remains ongoing, with its upper tier and roof still unfinished. Camp Nou last hosted the final in 1999, while Wembley has staged the match three times since then, most recently in 2024. UEFA also awarded the 2028 final to Bayern Munich’s stadium, while this season’s final will be played at Atlético Madrid’s Metropolitano Stadium.
