Toyota recalls RAV4 hybrids and Land Cruisers over power loss and fuel leak risks

Toyota has recalled nearly 39,000 2026 RAV4 Plug-in Hybrid SUVs in the U.S. and Canada because a software flaw in the motor-generator control unit could trigger reduced power or shut down the hybrid system while driving, potentially causing a loss of power to the wheels. Dealers will install a free software update; owners must bring affected vehicles in for service. Separately, Toyota recalled about 106,000 U.S. Land Cruisers from model years 2024–2027 because a fuel-tube connection near the tank could come loose and leak fuel, increasing fire risk. Dealers will inspect the connection, add a clamp and replace the fuel tube if needed; the reports say no fires or injuries have been reported.
