Debris Damages Aramco Building in Riyadh

Falling debris from an attempted attack damaged a Saudi Aramco administrative building in Riyadh’s King Abdullah Financial District on Sunday, shattering windows and damaging the facade; Saudi authorities reported no injuries or deaths. Saudi air defenses said they intercepted missiles and drones aimed at Riyadh and other regions, including the Eastern Province, Najran and Medina, though reports differed on the number and types intercepted. Alerts were issued and later lifted, and damage from other falling debris was assessed. Houthi spokesperson Yahya Saree claimed missile and drone operations against Saudi sites, including Aramco facilities, Riyadh’s airport and military positions, saying the attacks responded to Saudi strikes in Yemen; Saudi Arabia had not immediately confirmed the claimed strikes. Houthi allegations of civilian casualties in Yemen remained unverified. The incident came amid renewed Saudi-Houthi hostilities that have broken the 2022 truce and widened into the regional conflict.
