CPSC recalls nearly 200,000 JKMAX blankets and pads after 53 injuries
About 195,000 JKMAX heated blankets and heating pads sold on Amazon have been recalled because defective internal wiring can overheat, creating fire and burn hazards. The CPSC said it received 577 reports of products smoking, melting or burning, including 53 reported burn injuries. The recall covers all JKMAX blankets and heating pads, including models JKMAX-002, JKMAX-7284B, JKMAX-6284B, JKMAX-10090B and JKMAX-8490B, sold in various sizes, colors and one- or two-packs from September 2022 through July 2026. Consumers can identify the products by the model number on the detachable white remote or the packaging and should stop using them immediately. JKMAX is offering full refunds and can be contacted at 800-917-5732, [email protected] or jkmaxrecall.com.
