Kraków Attack Kills Six; Prosecutors Investigate Terrorism
Polish prosecutors are investigating Saturday’s mass shooting in Kraków’s Main Market Square as a terrorist offense after six people were killed and more than a dozen injured. Authorities say the 24-year-old suspect appears to have acted alone and was influenced by far-right ideas, but his motive remains unclear. Investigators are also examining the deaths of three people—reported to be the suspect’s family members—found at his home in Ostrowiec Świętokrzyski. Poland began two days of national mourning as police continued gathering evidence and reconstructing the events.
