ICE Agent Indicted in SUV Collision During Raid Set to Surrender
ICE officer Mario Alberto Morales is expected to surrender in Houston after a grand jury indicted him on a second-degree felony charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Prosecutors allege he intentionally struck Miguel Parra Hernandez with an SUV during an immigration operation on Oct. 10, and say body-camera and surveillance footage supports the charge. Hernandez suffered serious leg injuries, including a broken leg that required surgery. Morales’ attorney says the collision was accidental and has accused prosecutors of politicizing the case; a conviction could carry a prison sentence of two to 20 years.
