Air Force Major Charged Over Trump Criticism — Aug 24, 2026Maj. Jason Watson, a U.S. Air Force major who was arrested during a Capitol protest and after a CNN interview, has been formally charged under the Uniform Code of Military Justice with three Article 88 contempt-and remarks about President Trump, five Article 92 disobeying orders, and two Article 133 conduct unbecoming of an officer. The case could lead to years in prison, discharge, or loss of benefits if referred to a general court-martial, though the Air Force says he is presumed innocent and the Air Force District of Washington will handle the proceedings.
