No. 5 Michigan Women Beat No. 2 UConn
Fifth-ranked Michigan women’s basketball team defeated No. 2 UConn 77-66 in Ann Arbor, earning the program’s first win over a team ranked that high. Te’Yala Delfosse led Michigan with 22 points and nine rebounds, and Olivia Olson added 19 as the Wolverines took control in the fourth quarter and made 9 of 20 three-pointers. UConn freshman Jovana Popovic scored 25, but the Huskies committed 19 turnovers and were affected by Sarah Strong’s first-half foul trouble, suffering their first regular-season loss in more than a year. Michigan, which reached the Elite Eight last season, is seeking its first Final Four appearance.
