Christiane Amanpour to Leave CNN After 43 Years
Christiane Amanpour will leave CNN at the end of June 2027, concluding a 43-year career at the network and a tenure as one of its best-known international correspondents. Her daily CNN and PBS programs are scheduled to end at the close of 2026; her CNN International show will become weekly in January and conclude in May 2027, while she continues reporting for CNN through June. Amanpour said she is considering new projects and argued that journalists should be “truthful, not neutral.” CNN chairman Mark Thompson said they had discussed the decision for months and called her one of the world’s most trusted journalists. The announcement came weeks after CNN’s parent company was taken over by Paramount Skydance.
