Zelensky Says Ukraine Got No Warning of Russian Barrage
Russia launched 16 ballistic missiles and more than 200 drones across Ukraine, striking energy infrastructure in 11 regions, damaging more than 10 facilities and leaving about 550,000 households without power; strikes in Kyiv killed at least one person and damaged civilian buildings. Zelenskyy said Ukraine received no advance warning before the first wave and learned of a later wave only moments before impact. He said U.S. intelligence sharing had been interrupted for about three days and had since resumed, while Secretary of State Marco Rubio denied there had been a pause; Ukrainian and U.S. specialists are investigating the warning failures. The dispute comes amid tensions over delayed air-defense deliveries and Washington’s easing of sanctions on Russia as President Donald Trump pursues peace negotiations. Zelenskyy called U.S. support for Russia a “historic mistake” and urged Washington to remain on Ukraine’s side or neutral.
