Ukraine Launches Major Drone Attack on Moscow

Ukraine launched one of its largest-ever drone attacks on Moscow and surrounding areas, with Russian officials saying air defenses intercepted more than 1,600 drones nationwide, including about 450 headed toward the capital. Drones reached the Moscow Oil Refinery and other sites, damaging residential buildings and reportedly causing at least two deaths, about 20 injuries, fires and evacuations in the wider Moscow region; Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said a key oil-industry facility and a logistics site were targeted to weaken Russia’s war effort. The attacks came amid an intensified campaign against energy infrastructure and reported claims of a mutual agreement not to target such facilities, while both countries deny deliberately targeting civilians.
