Gaza City Collapse Kills At Least 11
A residential building in Gaza City that had been weakened by earlier Israeli strikes collapsed overnight, killing at least 11 people and, according to other reports, as many as 21. Rescue workers and volunteers searched by hand for survivors because heavy machinery, life-detection equipment and protective supplies were largely unavailable. Authorities said dozens were trapped, while rescue teams reportedly recovered more than 20 survivors, including children. The collapse underscored the dangers faced by displaced Palestinians living in unsafe buildings amid severe shortages and restrictions on equipment entering Gaza.
