Iran Says It Will Pursue Legal Action Against Sinokor in Hormuz

Iran’s Persian Gulf Strait Authority says it will take legal action against all vessels belonging to South Korea’s Sinokor from November 1, alleging the company’s ships committed the most transit-rule violations in the Strait of Hormuz over the past three months. The authority has not specified what action it plans to take, but says listed vessels may face restrictions such as fines, detention or confiscation; at least seven Sinokor-linked ships have already faced enforcement measures, and reports say seven tankers were damaged in attacks. Sinokor has carried an unusually large share of oil through the waterway: its tankers transported about 105.6 million barrels in September, roughly 37% of the crude that transited the strait, according to vessel-tracking analysis.
