Iran's Revolutionary Guard Says It Lifts Missile Range Limit
Iran’s Revolutionary Guard says the country has lifted its self-imposed 2,000-kilometer limit on ballistic-missile range, and spokesman Brig. Gen. Hossein Mohebbi said Tehran would demonstrate its ability to respond to threats in practice and strike adversaries at unexpected locations. Mohebbi did not say Iran currently has missiles capable of exceeding that range; Iran is not known to possess them, though U.S. officials have warned that its space-program technology could potentially support development of intercontinental missiles. The announcement comes amid heightened tensions and renewed military activity involving the United States in the region.
