Ohio Gov.-Elect Acton Won’t Speak to Ramaswamy
Ohio Gov.-elect Amy Acton said she has no intention of speaking with Republican opponent Vivek Ramaswamy after his campaign aired an ad featuring her estranged mother, who called Acton a liar. Acton condemned the ad as “terrible and despicable,” saying it exploited painful family history and reflected a campaign marked by lies and vitriol; she said political leaders should be held accountable for their words and actions. Acton and her brother were removed from their mother’s care after their stepfather was accused of sexually abusing Acton as a child. The ad drew criticism from prominent Ohio Republicans as well as Democrats, while President Donald Trump defended it. Ramaswamy said after conceding that he had called to congratulate Acton.
Where do you stand?
