Riley Moore Wins West Virginia House Seat, Wes Moore Takes Maryland Rematch

Republican Rep. Riley Moore won reelection in West Virginia’s 2nd Congressional District, defeating Democrat Ace Parsi and securing a second term. In Maryland, Democratic Gov. Wes Moore was projected to win a second term, defeating Republican Dan Cox in a rematch of their 2022 race. Wes Moore campaigned on unfinished work and his administration’s priorities, and backed Question 3, a measure that could give state lawmakers more latitude to redraw congressional districts. The Maryland race also featured debate over the state’s budget gap and the delayed, over-budget rebuilding of Baltimore’s Francis Scott Key Bridge.
