Republican Sen. Tom Cotton won a third U.S. Senate term in Arkansas on Tuesday; Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders won a second term. AP called Cotton at 9:40 p.m. with about 82% counted: Cotton 54.3% (383,679), Democrat Hallie Shoffner 42.6% (301,362), Libertarian Jeff Wadlin 3.1% (22,013). CNN called Sanders just after 9:30 p.m.; AP had her over 379,000 votes with 82% in. Arkansas Times reported a roughly 15-point Sanders lead over Democrat Fred Love, with Libertarian Colt Shelby at 7.5%. Cotton is to be sworn in Jan. 3, 2027. Shoffner said she would defund ICE as it exists right now and would not spend one more dime on ICE, later writing, I don't want to defund ICE. I want to reform it. On the Free Arkansas podcast she said of immigrant workers, we'd trade five Americans for just one of them because of how hard they work; campaign manager Anna-Lee Pittman said the remark was out of context. A former SFR Seed employee told the Washington Free Beacon she knowingly employed illegal immigrants; the campaign demanded credible evidence. Sanders campaigned on the LEARNS Act, school choice, and tax cuts; Love on public schools, rural health care, and working-class investment.

Sanders has earned a second term with her record on education and taxes, even if some wanted more progress on infrastructure.
Cotton winning reelection by that margin shows Arkansas voters back his focus on border security and spending cuts.
