Democrat Debbie Wasserman Schultz won Florida’s newly redrawn 20th Congressional District, defeating Republican Brent Andersen and independent Kedner Maxime and keeping the seat in Democratic hands. The victory followed Republican-led redistricting that substantially changed her previous district and prompted her to run in the Broward County seat. Wasserman Schultz, who has served in Congress since 2005, emphasized her experience and affordability during the campaign; Andersen focused on housing and insurance costs, fiscal responsibility and immigration enforcement.

What each side asserts, disputes — or leaves out entirely.
Whose framing of this story rings truest to you?
It's good the seat stays Democratic since the area leans that way after the map changes.
Brent Andersen ran a solid campaign but the numbers in Broward were always going to favor the Democrat.
Redistricting made this district even safer for her but at least the voters had a clear choice this time.
