Arizona, Texas Tech Set for Ranked Clash

No. 22 Arizona visits No. 13 Texas Tech in a pivotal Big 12 matchup, with both teams 6-1 overall and 3-1 in conference play, tied among the teams chasing league-leading Utah. Arizona arrives on a five-game winning streak after routing Iowa State, while Texas Tech is coming off its first loss, to Cincinnati. The matchup centers on Arizona quarterback Noah Fifita, who has thrown for 2,064 yards and 18 touchdowns with four interceptions, against a Texas Tech defense praised by Arizona coach Brent Brennan for its physical front and turnover-making ability. Texas Tech’s defense has also shown a vulnerability against the pass, giving up 266.1 yards per game, while Brennan says Arizona will need to run effectively and stay out of difficult down-and-distance situations. The teams’ shared history stretches back to 1932, though Saturday’s game will be their first meeting in Lubbock since 1989.
