Oregon beats Ohio State 41-28, dents playoff hopes

Ohio State’s College Football Playoff hopes took a major hit Saturday as the Buckeyes lost to Oregon 41-28, their second straight defeat. Ohio State surged to a 14-0 lead, but Oregon seized momentum with a fake punt and two late first-half touchdowns, then pulled away after halftime. The loss leaves the Buckeyes with three defeats and puts their streak of seasons without three regular-season losses to an end, dating back to 2011. Ohio State likely needs to win its final three regular-season games to remain in contention for the playoff.
