FSU QB Daniels Returns After Miami Targeting Ejection

Florida State quarterback Ashton Daniels left the rivalry game against No. 3 Miami after safety Zechariah Poyser hit him in the head as he slid following a 15-yard run. Officials upheld a targeting call and ejected Poyser. Daniels was evaluated in the medical tent while backup Kevin Sperry briefly took over; Daniels returned on Florida State’s next possession. The Seminoles were stopped on fourth down near the goal line during the drive led by Sperry, then Daniels returned to lead a touchdown drive.
