Ohio State expected to start Fahey against USC
True freshman Luke Fahey is expected to start at quarterback for No. 2 Ohio State against USC after Julian Sayin injured his throwing arm in the Buckeyes’ win over Indiana and was ruled out indefinitely. Fahey has limited experience, while sophomore Tavien St. Clair was the other contender for the job. Ohio State may lean on its running game and keep the offense manageable for Fahey; the Buckeyes face a USC team coming off a 24-7 loss in which its offense struggled to run the ball and its quarterback threw two early interceptions.
