Oregon Fires OC Drew Mehringer After Falling to 4-3

Oregon dismissed offensive coordinator Drew Mehringer on Sunday, a day after the Ducks fell 21-10 to Illinois and dropped to 4-3 overall. Coach Dan Lanning said the program needed a new direction for its offense; Oregon has struggled in recent weeks and has not scored more than 17 points in three weeks. The Ducks have also been without starting quarterback Dante Moore, who is recovering from a concussion, and have dealt with injuries and absences at wide receiver. Mehringer took over as coordinator before the 2026 season after Will Stein left to become Kentucky’s head coach; Oregon has not announced a replacement.
