Big 12 Commissioner Brett Yormark to leave after 2026 season
Big 12 Commissioner Brett Yormark will leave the post after the 2026 college football season, with his tenure ending Jan. 31, 2027, and is expected to take a role outside college sports. Hired in 2022 after leading Roc Nation, he guided the conference through major realignment, adding eight schools to create its current 16-team lineup, and secured a multibillion-dollar media-rights deal with ESPN and Fox. Yormark also expanded the league’s commercial and entertainment initiatives. The Big 12 Board of Directors will begin searching for his successor as the conference prepares for further changes ahead of its next television-contract cycle.
