Syracuse snaps ACC skid with 31-30 OT win over UNC
Syracuse rallied from a 10-point fourth-quarter deficit to beat North Carolina 31-30 in overtime, snapping an 11-game ACC losing streak. Quarterback Steve Angeli, back in the starting role amid injuries to other quarterbacks, threw for 256 yards and connected with Calvin Russell III for an overtime touchdown and the decisive two-point conversion. Ahmad Miller rushed for 125 yards, while Umari Hatcher’s 76-yard touchdown helped fuel the comeback. The Orange had tied the game late in regulation on Miller’s touchdown, but Shay Barker missed the extra point; Syracuse’s defense then forced a North Carolina overtime possession to end before Angeli and Russell sealed the win.
