Alabama Edges Auburn 87-85 in Exhibition

Alabama defeated Auburn 87-85 in a hard-fought exhibition at Birmingham’s Legacy Arena, a rivalry game that carried plenty of intensity despite not counting toward either team’s record. Sophomore Amari Allen scored 23 points, including 20 after halftime, and made a crucial three-point play late to put Alabama ahead. Freshman Qayden Samuels added 20 points, four rebounds and four assists as Alabama played without suspended guard Aden Holloway and injured freshmen Cole Cloer and Anderson Diaz. The teams entered the matchup after opening exhibition wins for Alabama and a loss for Auburn; the game offered an early test for both sides ahead of the regular season.
