Whittingham Criticizes Beck After Michigan’s 13-6 Loss
Michigan lost 13-6 to No. 6 Indiana in overtime, falling to 4-3 after its defense held the Hoosiers to six points through regulation but the offense failed to score a touchdown. The Wolverines gained 224 yards, including 57 rushing yards, and struggled on third downs and in the red zone. On third-and-goal at the Indiana 1, a pass play resulted in a sack and a missed field goal; coach Kyle Whittingham called it a bad call and said ultimate responsibility rests with him. Whittingham said the offense has not been good enough but ruled out panic or an in-season coaching change, citing offensive coordinator Jason Beck’s past results and noting he can override staff decisions. Michigan has five regular-season games remaining and next faces Rutgers as it pursues bowl eligibility.
