Klein Hands Off Kansas State Play-Calling After 66-28 Loss
Kansas State coach Collin Klein took responsibility after the Wildcats were routed 66-28 by Oklahoma State, their fifth loss in six games and a result that exposed persistent problems on both sides of the ball. Klein handed play-calling duties to offensive coordinator Sean Gleeson for the first time this season, saying the move was part of his ongoing evaluation of how he can improve as head coach; it remains unclear whether Gleeson will continue calling plays. The Wildcats struggled to run the ball and stop Oklahoma State, while quarterback Avery Johnson’s injury left them using another new starter. Klein acknowledged that the coaching staff must make adjustments and give players better chances to succeed as Kansas State tries to arrest its season-long slide.
