Pistons, Heat set for matchup after contrasting openers

Miami hosts Detroit on Friday after the teams opened the season in sharply different fashion. Giannis Antetokounmpo scored 35 points in his Heat debut, but Miami lost to Minnesota by 25, with defensive breakdowns and a lack of offensive rhythm exposing how much work remains to build team chemistry. Detroit rallied from a 22-point deficit to beat Boston, fueled by a fourth-quarter surge and strong contributions from Jalen Duren, Cade Cunningham and the supporting cast. The matchup gives Miami an immediate chance to respond, while Detroit will look to carry its comeback momentum into the road game.
