LaMelo Ball Travel Noncall Goes Viral in Debut
LaMelo Ball made his Minnesota Timberwolves debut in a win over the Miami Heat, scoring 21 points and combining effectively with Anthony Edwards, who led the way with 45. Ball also drew widespread attention for a three-pointer on which he appeared to take several steps after gathering the ball, but officials did not call a travel. ESPN commentators and viewers criticized the non-call, and Ball’s brother Lonzo joined in, jokingly calling it a travel on social media. LaMelo rejected the accusation, saying he believed the play was legal.
