Pistons rout Hornets 124-91 behind Cunningham
The Detroit Pistons overwhelmed the Charlotte Hornets 124-91 on Nov. 2, improving to 6-1 while extending Charlotte’s losing streak to four games. Cade Cunningham scored a season-high 33 points, added seven assists and five rebounds, and sparked a decisive 19-0 run in the third quarter after the Hornets had cut the lead to four. Detroit tied its season high with 18 three-pointers, led by Duncan Robinson’s six, and opened the fourth quarter with an 8-2 burst to stretch its run to 27-2. The win continued Detroit’s strong start, built in part on a league-leading defense; Charlotte, meanwhile, had hoped to rebound with the return of Coby White, playing his first game of the season after a calf injury.
