Gobert Struggles as Timberwolves Fall to Warriors

Minnesota lost 119–114 to Golden State for its second straight defeat and will be without Anthony Edwards for an extended period because of a knee injury. Rudy Gobert scored one point on 0-for-4 shooting, extending a two-game shooting drought. Coach Chris Finch urged Gobert to finish more forcefully, and Gobert said he needs to be more decisive and dunk when possible. A tense-looking exchange on the bench with LaMelo Ball and Jonathan Kuminga drew attention, but Gobert said it reflected frustration, not animosity or disrespect. The slump underscores Gobert’s adjustment to an offense asking him to convert more rolls, lobs and close-range chances, while his rebounding, screening and defense remain important to the team.
