Mavericks Pick Up Cooper Flagg’s 2027-28 Option

Dallas exercised its third-year team option on Cooper Flagg for the 2027-28 season after he averaged 21 points, 6.7 rebounds and 4.5 assists in his rookie campaign. In preseason, Flagg sat out Wednesday’s game against New Orleans for rest but was available to face Atlanta Friday; he averaged 16.5 points, five rebounds and five assists across two preseason appearances. Jett Howard missed Wednesday’s game with an illness. Boston’s Paul George and the Celtics’ other regulars sat out their preseason finale, with the team expecting them to be ready for Tuesday’s regular-season opener.
