Embiid Ruled Out Against Detroit
Joel Embiid was ruled out of Philadelphia’s Sunday game against Detroit to manage right plantar fasciitis, sitting the second half of a back-to-back despite saying he wanted to play. He had recorded 28 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists in Saturday’s win over Milwaukee, as the 3-0 Sixers continue to manage his workload amid his injury history. Philadelphia is also without Jabari Walker, Dominick Barlow and Ariel Hukporti, leaving Adem Bona as its main center option, with small-ball lineups as an alternative. LeBron James is expected back after missing Saturday with sciatica, while Detroit will be without starting center Jalen Duren, who has a hamstring strain.
