Flagg Sets NBA Record, Mavericks Fall to Rockets
Cooper Flagg scored 32 points in the Dallas Mavericks’ 128-110 season-opening loss to the Houston Rockets, setting an NBA record for most points by a teenager in a season opener. He shot 10-for-17 from the field and added five rebounds, three steals, two assists and a block, but Dallas fell behind after Houston won the second quarter 38-12. Flagg said the Mavericks became stagnant, struggled to get organized and failed to respond defensively when Houston built momentum. Dallas next visits the Indiana Pacers.
