Tatum Says He Learned of Brown Trade From ESPN

Jayson Tatum said he learned from ESPN reporter Shams Charania that the Boston Celtics had traded Jaylen Brown to the Philadelphia 76ers and was as surprised as other fans. Tatum praised their nine-season partnership, mutual growth and championship, saying their shared legacy would endure. The trade drew renewed debate after Boston’s season-opening loss and strong performances by Paul George and Brown for their new teams. Stephen A. Smith argued Tatum could have prevented the move by objecting, though reports say the Celtics made the decision without consulting him, and Tatum’s influence remains unclear.
