Nets Earn First Win, Beat Pacers 98-90

Brooklyn’s early-season struggles have been driven by poor offensive cohesion, with Julius Randle saying players are getting out of position, failing to cut and losing their rhythm after the first action. Michael Porter Jr. has also said he sometimes goes long stretches without the ball as he adjusts to playing alongside Randle. Randle and coach Jordi Fernández have stressed the need for better in-game recognition, mental toughness and leadership when opponents respond, while Porter has urged the group to stay connected and positive. The Nets showed progress Sunday, earning their first win of the season with a 98-90 victory over Indiana, led by Porter’s 23 points, Randle’s 20 and Day’Ron Sharpe’s 15 points and 13 rebounds.
