Knicks Sign Dalton Knecht to Two-Way Contract
The New York Knicks signed former Lakers first-round pick Dalton Knecht to a two-way contract and waived Kevin McCullar Jr. to open a roster spot. Knecht, the 17th pick in the 2024 draft, averaged 9.1 points and shot 37.6% from three as a rookie, but his role shrank last season, when he averaged 4.2 points in 10.2 minutes across 54 games. After the Lakers waived him and he cleared waivers, multiple teams showed interest; New York is adding wing depth and betting his shooting and scoring can rebound.
