Giants Six Homers, Athletics Four in Inning

The Athletics hit four home runs in the third inning and defeated the Seattle Mariners 7-6 on Friday. Max Muncy, Alika Williams, Jeff McNeil and Zack Gelof homered in succession as Oakland became the second major league team this season to hit four homers in one inning. Gelof later delivered a tiebreaking triple, while Muncy collected three hits and the Athletics won their third consecutive game. Seattle’s Cal Raleigh hit a two-run homer, but the Mariners fell further behind in the American League playoff race.
