Semien Homer Lifts Mets Past Rangers, 7-2

Marcus Semien’s return to Globe Life Field underscored his enduring connection to the Texas Rangers, who honored him with a tribute before the Mets’ series opener. Semien helped lead Texas to its first World Series championship in 2023, a season in which he played all 162 games, earned All-Star and Silver Slugger honors, and finished third in AL MVP voting. He called that championship run the pinnacle of his career and said he still misses the teammates from that club, including Corey Seager and Adolis García.
