Acuña Exits With Shin Contusion, X-Rays Negative but Availability Uncertain

Atlanta Braves star outfielder Ronald Acuña Jr. left Tuesday’s game against the Cincinnati Reds after fouling a pitch off the lower part of his left leg in the third inning. He was diagnosed with a left shin contusion, and X-rays were negative for a fracture, though his availability for upcoming games remains uncertain. Acuña has appeared in only 104 games this season because of multiple lower-body injuries, with the latest injury occurring about a week before the postseason. He had been batting .342 with a 1.086 OPS in September and recently recorded his first 20-homer, 20-steal season since 2023.
