Rays Tie ALCS at 2-2 With Game 4 Win

The Tampa Bay Rays beat the Cleveland Guardians 7-3 in Game 4 of the American League Championship Series, tying the series at 2-2 after rain delayed the game by a day. Nick Martinez held Cleveland to one run over 5⅓ innings, and Tampa Bay’s top four hitters scored six runs; a costly seventh-inning defensive misplay helped the Rays pull away. Cleveland had won Game 3, 3-2, to take a 2-1 lead, with rookie Petey Halpin hitting a two-run homer and Cade Smith earning a four-out save. Smith struck out Yandy Díaz in a 10-pitch showdown and has appeared in seven of Cleveland’s eight postseason games. Game 5 is scheduled for Sunday in Cleveland before the series moves to St. Petersburg.
